Balance Position

IconOnlyScreen.png

At Balance Position, we empower student-athletes to achieve and maintain optimal mental wellness so they can perform their best on the field, in the classroom, and in life.  Our solution set includes a mobile app that prescribes contextual guidance to users based on near real-time indicators.  We are in the final sprints of MVP development.

For this project we have used: pencil sketching, Balsamiq and Proto.io for wireframe and prototype development; JIRA and Confluence for agile project management; Visio for task flow analysis; Office software for various deliverables; in-person user interviews and surveys for user research; moderated, in-person usability testing and SUS scoring; GitHub for code repository; Slack for team communication; Google Hangouts/Meet and GoToMeeting for conferencing; AWS hosting

OneSpot Software

OneSpot is an early stage, for-profit startup that provides property and facility management software to the commercial real estate industry. When I arrived at OneSpot, it was a pretty typical "feature creep" project born of the waterfall approach to software development - a technology product looking for a business problem to solve.  We quickly pivoted to a lean, user-centered approach to R&D leveraging agile (scrum) development.  The result was a decisive pivot to an MVP that achieved product-market fit (i.e. paying customers) within six months.  We are now beginning to evaluate the product design holistically.
